Born 1949 in Heilbronn (Germany)

Living and working as artist in Auroville, India and in Tübingen / Berlin, Germany

During her work as a teacher, there were created large pieces of textile art together with her students. At this time she was also putting more and more stress on the development of her drawing and modelling skills with artists in the large area of Tuebingen, Germany.

Through courses in painting at the international "European Arts Academy Trier" with professors Manchini, Lasar, Petri, and Stahl and especially through regular courses at the "Academy for Fine Arts" at Steffeln with Fritz Baumgartner, she developed her style.

Her main artistic focus is on the human being expressing in body language, spirit and mind. Helgard created her first big mixed-media sculpture in 2000. Living partly in India led her to experiment also with small bronze sculptures.

In her search for the spiritual and energetic substance of man and nature, she is using collage, painting, frottage and experimental techniques such as mixed media, earth ash, sand, coffee powder, etc. In March 2019 her first huge high kinetic stainless steel sculpture was inaugurated.

Since 1999 H. Zurmuehl has regularly taken part in single and group exhibitions.
